Temperature Dependences of Losses in High Frequency Dielectrics
نویسندگان
چکیده
Temperature is one of the important factors that affect to the coefficient of dielectric loss. Currently electronics is actively developing in the gigahertz frequency range. The frequency growth leads to the increasing of dielectric self-heating in the microwave electric field. Heating of dielectrics might be caused also by the external sources of heat. This paper presents the investigation of temperature dependences of the microwave dielectric losses for different mechanisms of polarization. The results of mathematical modelling are shown as well. Temperature and voltage dependences of the capture and emission times of individual traps in high-k dielectrics
Quantized threshold voltage (VTH) relaxation transients are observed in nano-scaled field effect transistors (FETs) after bias temperature stress. The abrupt steps are due to trapping/detrapping of individual defects in the gate oxide and indicate their characteristic emission/capture times. Individual traps are studied in n-channel SiO2/HfSiO FETs after positive gate stress to complement previ...
متن کاملThermal Effects Study on Stimulated Brillouin Light Scattering in Photonic Crystal Fiber
we investigate the temperature-dependences of the Brillouin frequency shift in three different kind of single-mode fibers using a heterodyne method for sensing temperature. Positive dependences coefficients of 0.77, 0.56 and 1.45MHz/0C are demonstrated for 25 km long single-mode fiber, 10 km long non-zero dispersion shifted fiber and 100 m photonic crystal fiber, respectively. The results indic...
متن کاملLoss-induced transition of the Goos-Hänchen effect for metals and dielectrics.
We report a unifying approach to the Goos-Hänchen (GH) shifts on external optical reflection for metals and dielectrics in particular for the case of high losses, that is for a large imaginary part of the dielectric constant. In this regime metals and dielectrics have a similar GH shift which is in contrast to the low-loss regime where the metallic and dielectric forms of the GH shift are very ...
متن کاملHeating liquid dielectrics by time dependent fields
Steady state and time-resolved dielectric relaxation experiments are performed at high fields on viscous glycerol and the effects of energy absorption from the electric field are studied. Time resolution is obtained by a sinusoidal field whose amplitude is switched from a low to a high level and by recording voltage and current traces with an oscilloscope during this transition. Based on their ...
متن کاملApplication of Homotopy Perturbation Method to One-dimensional Transient Single-phase EM Heating Model
Thermal recovery involves well-known processes such as steam injection (cyclic steam stimulation, steam drive, and steam-assisted gravity drainage), in situ combustion, and a more recent technique that consists of heating the reservoir with electrical energy. When high frequency is used for heating, it is called electromagnetic (EM) heating. The applications of EM heating for heavy-oil reservoi...
